Purchased this external battery pack IMP500 for my wife. It works wonderfully!!!! Our son uses the iphone to play games alot, so when we travel or just in the car for a long drive the extra battery power has come in handy more than once. Greatest use my wife received from it! While in an airport she was only minutes away from missing a flight, had kid in tow, and carryon. There was not time to plug in her phone which was near battery life death. She remembered she had the New Trent powerpack in her purse. She slipped it on placed phone in her purse. By the time she was seated, and ready to go her phone was nearly fully charged. REAL lifesaver because they were on a 6 1/2 flight, so our son was not left iphoneless.

great unit for the price. it’s nice and small and works as advertised.

not too crazy about the method of charging it. it comes with a retractable cable with USB on one end and round plug on the other end and a USB wall charger. If you lose this retractable cable, you are out of luck. You also use this same cable with the included TIPS for ipod, mini, and microusb (or use your own usb to whatever cables).

It ONLY outputs 600ma, most modern smartphones come with 1A output chargers, so it’s a fairly SLOW charge. But it works, and for the price, I m glad i got it as it’s 5000mha vs many of the others which are 3500 or less.
Super high quality. Status lights are very informative. Works great with my iPhone 4. Very satisfied

I purchased this backup battery for a recent transpacific business/site-seeing trip. Worked just as advertised! Everyone who saw me use this for my iPod Touch 3rd Gen and my Samsung cell phone wanted to know more about it. In fact, they all asked to use it themselves. I was able to recharge two Touches two times before I had to recharge the unit. On my return to the states, I found that it was just as useful and as popular with friends and family on a short weekend getaway. It feels great to be temporarily liberated from the AC outlet. Kudos!

Charging the Battery takes a long time, overnight. In instructions for charging the iPhone are vague at best. Although it provides a plug to the side and an iPhone plug that set up does not work. Instead use the USB receptical at the top of the unit and your white iPhone USB > iPhone connector. Takes about two hours for a full charge, and there are at least two charges in the unit. Great for airplanes.
